The earlier you schedule the better chance you have of booking the time slot you require. We are a small company and do book up full at peak times. 2 ) Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, we do charge a three hour minimum work time plus the travel time (for certain areas) on all moves. For example a 2 man move has a three hour minimum charge even if it only took 2 and a half hours to complete it. Please refer to the Services page.
3 ) How can I save money?
If you can move mid month you will save money. Be prepared, well packed and organized.
Everything is time... are we taking the beds apart or are you? That's time that could be saved if you are on a budget.
Gather used packing supplies instead of buying them.

4 ) How do you protect my furniture and carpets when it rains?
We wrap your furniture with moving blankets or shrink wrap to protect it and we will lay out blankets or carpet runners on your floors.
5 ) What is the Travel Time?
Travel Time is a flat rate that we charge to compensate the 'travel time' it takes for our moving team to leave our yard to your home and then to return back to our yard. Your move might be 4 hours long but our men will work for 5 hours total because of their 'travel time'. We charge a flat rate such as $55 to the customer and we absorb the additional time. We all know how long traffic can be some times and this is a necessary charge.
6 ) What are the 3 Free Wardrobes about?
We bring 3 Wardrobe Boxes for you to use on moving day for free. They are mini closets with a 2 foot mini hanging bar to hang your finer clothes. We can hang your clothes quickly and hang them in your new home stress free. With notice we rent extra wardrobes.
7 ) Do I need to place a deposit to reserve my truck?
If your moving from the 30th to the 1st you will need to place a $200 deposit to reserve your truck. We normally ask for this in advance and apply it to your invoice on moving day. Other days of the month DO NOT require a deposit. It is refundable with 2 weeks cancellation notice. It may be refunded with less than 2 weeks notice IF your truck appointment can be re-booked.
For long distance moves or out of state moves a non-refundable deposit is required. Like I said earlier, we are a small company and long distance moves may take a couple of days; days that we are not moving others, so if you cancel then we would have lost not only your move, but other moves that we could have done in that time, so therefore the non-refundable deposit.
8 ) I have an average 3 bedroom home, should I order 2 or 3 men?
Generally speaking 3 men is the best choice for anything over a 2 bedroom suite. It usually will save you money in the long run by speeding up the moving process.
If there is a piano or extra heavy items and lots of stairs 3 men is required. Contact us anytime for more support.
9 ) I have a 1 bedroom apartment with 3 flights of stairs and only 1 very heavy entertainment center, do I need 2 or 3 men?
Stairs are a big factor concerning time. If you don't have too many items to move than 2 men are fine, but if you have a large amount of items or trips up and down the stairs you may want the third man to help speed it up and save money.
10 ) I have an apartment how do I know if I should order 2 or 3 men?
If you have an average 1 or 2 bedroom apartment you do not require 3 men unless there are heavy items like a piano or a large amount of stairs. You can discuss your choices with us anytime.
11 ) Is U-Save Moving And Storage insured?
Yes, we are fully insured, see our Customer Protection Page for details. We offer three Customer Protection Plans for your shipment. All moves are protected with Released Value Protection which is minimal coverage meant for low value moves or moves already covered through your home insurance. For a small fee you can purchase extra protection, either TOTAL LOSS PROTECTION (medium protection) or REPLACEMENT VALUE PROTECTION which is meant for high value moves or moves not already covered through your home insurance. 12 ) Can I pay you with a check or credit card?
We ONLY accept CASH, Postal Money Order, Cashiers Checks, or Traveler Checks. Sorry we don't take credit cards at this time. When the move is completed we will settle the invoice. Cash is king! We will take personal checks if they are written from a Michigan bank.
13 ) Do I have to reserve my elevator?
If you are moving in any apartment with an elevator you MUST talk to the Manager about reserving the elevator as soon as possible. Some apartments are very strict concerning the elevators and the amount of time you use it. Also, it is important that you speak with your apartment manager about reserving space for U-Save Moving And Storage to be able load and unload the moving trucks.
14 ) How do I know what size truck I need?
We are experts in knowing which size of moving truck is needed. For a full service move you will not need to worry about this as we'll handle all of that, But if your hiring us for a labor only move then...
You should base your truck size using the description written beside each truck on the HOME PAGE or 3 TRUCK SIZE page. Small Trucks - studios and 1 bedrooms Medium Trucks - large 1's and small 2 bedrooms Large Trucks - Large 2 bedrooms average 3 bedrooms and up. 15 ) I am moving and have to pick up a sofa on the way to my new home, how does this work?
We are happy to stop along the way and there is no extra fee just the time it takes. Make sure to let us know before hand so we plan the best route.
