Despite the best efforts of our competitor’s slander and libel U-Save Moving and Storage is licensed and insured. Below are screenshots of our licensing and insurance papers. Soon we’ll set it up so that you can print off a copy for yourselves if you so choose.
Here is a picture of licensing and enrollment into the Michigan Movers Association:
Licensed and Insured Mover
Unlicensed and uninsured movers are bad movers. Although they can be. You should never use an unlicensed or uninsured mover as there is risk in using them.
You should know that if you use them and they damage (Heaven forbid) or ever steal your possessions. You have little recourse in recovering your loss.
It has been reported that many of rogue movers (that is the official term for an unlicensed and uninsured mover) will simply change their phone number and business name and continue to operate.
Additionally, if a rogue mover ever gets caught with your belongings on one of their trucks your stuff could get impounded for an undetermined amount of time.
And lastly, many (not necessarily most), rogue movers usually hire the dregs of society and pay them under the table. Do you really want child molesters, thieves and rapists knowing where you and your children live? I know that I don’t.
Licensed and insured movers tend to hire the best of the best, and they are usually vetted through the state and other agencies. Before they are hired background checks and drug and alcohol testing is done. This is not foolproof, but it is far better than the alternative.
So use a licensed and insured mover. Or better yet, use U-Save Moving and Storage.
